In 2024, women founded 49% of all new businesses in the United States, a 69% increase from 2019 and the highest percentage in the preceding five years. More than just a statistic, this increase shows how resilient and resourceful women are in the face of adversity. Through tech startups and sustainable fashion brands, women are not only boosting the economy but also driving it forward.However, there are obstacles in the way. Notwithstanding the progress, structural barriers continue to keep women from expanding their enterprises and securing funding. For instance, The Times reports that the percentage of women running small and medium-sized companies in the UK decreased from 15% in 2024 to 14% in 2025. This highlights the need for continuous support and structural changes to ensure women can be successful entrepreneurs. Not only that, there is a change in leadership as well. In boardrooms and other settings, women are contributing empathy, teamwork, and creativity. Companies with a higher proportion of women in executive roles are seen to give high competition to their peers in terms of profitability, market share, and total shareholder returns.
